Miscellaneous

Sims Hill Shared Harvest is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) scheme operating on a smallholding in the north of Bristol City. We have the following aims:
To provide quality fruit and vegetables, grown using natural farming methods
To offer opportunities for education, work and recreation to the wider community
To include and support people who are socially or economically marginalised
To build community life through creating a relationship with food and its production
At present soil cultivation relies solely on a local farmer volunteering his use of a tractor and plough. As the CSA aspires to rely on natural farming methods, we would be very keen to welcome a horseman and working horse to help with ploughing in return for a share of the harvest.
All enquiries please contact James on 07935 332659 or Tim on 07973 256572.

Wanted on permanent loan
I'm offering a 5 star home for the right horse, must be full draught or draught x draught and be a good steady ride for a disabled, i hate to say it, middle aged lady. I'm happy to consider anybody but the perfect horse for me would be a mare to fit in with my 2 retired mares (that's why i have no funds to buy!) and no percheron blood! As I said the next member of my family has to be steady and not want to gallop around the countryside at 50 miles per hour as my perch does. We wouldn't be doing any logging work, although my husband does have a log collection to rival the local forestry, which we could always move around the barns for fun! The horse must be at least 15.3 and a good weight carrier, if you use a weigh tape around the girth and divide by 3 the result is the weight a horse can carry very comfortably. so dont want to waste anyones time but if you feel you can help contact Vicky on 07534392732
