A one day course held at Moreton Woods Herefordshire HR1 3JQ . The day will centre around the FC procedure 9 “Estimation of Stand Volume for Inventory Purposes “ which once mastered will give the practitioner the ability to accurately calculate the volume of timber contained in a stand of trees. Which is the starting block for most Woodland management plans.Sounds complicated? as long as you can move around a woodland environment and read a tape measure, you have all the skills you require. You will be taken step by step through the process by a qualified Forester with over forty years of experience. During the course of the day we will also discuss Silvicultural practices such as thinning regimes, the Yield Class system and timber stack measurement and saw log measurements. So you can accurately know how much your horse can comfortably pull. Girth tape and all other learning materials are included along with good natured banter, tea/coffee and of course cake.
