We have run these courses over the last couple of years and they have been very successful. The course is aimed at people who are considering horse logging as a career.

It is a five-day course that will give an insight into all parts of working horses in woodlands, but obviously this is only a start. We cover horse care, harness types, harnessing, health and safety. After the initial theory there will be mainly hands-on exercise, from long reining to doing a complete job.

By the end of the course participants should be able to be of some help to loggers who might need a hand. After the course there is the offer of continued support for people who would like to take this further. Now Lantra approved.
